PINELLAS COUNTY - If you get an official-looking letter in the mail offering to get you a copy of your property deed for $89, don't fall for it. The scam is circulating in Pinellas County and it's a waste of money.

Tampa Bay Newspapers-Beacon, Leader, Bee: Pinellas County receives clean audit reports

CLEARWATER - It was good news all around during the June 6 presentation of audit results of Pinellas County’s finances for fiscal year 2016. The independent auditor, Crowe Horwath LLP based in Tampa, gave an “unmodified opinion” for the comprehensive annual financial report. In other words, it was a “clean audit” with no problems found.

PINELLAS - From the confines of a Florida prison, Vincent Craig Williams types screeds attacking the Pinellas County legal system. In one document, Williams wrote that Pinellas Clerk of the Circuit Court Ken Burke should immediately release him — a "flesh and blood mortal being" — from prison. Williams, 57, is serving 20 years for attempted murder.
