Operation Green Light Event

During the Clerk’s Operation Green Light Event, eligible Pinellas County customers with suspended driver's licenses will be able to pay overdue court and traffic fines while saving up to 25 percent on collection fees. This initiative aims to help thousands of individuals with Pinellas County cases looking to save on fees, inquire about a payment plan and have their driver’s license reinstated.

WHAT: Pinellas County Clerk of Courts Operation Green Light, A Driver's License Reinstatement Event

WHERE: Pinellas County Justice Center (14250 49th Street North Clearwater, FL 33762)

WHEN: Saturday, June 15th, 2024  (Customers will be contacted 2-3 business days after registration to discuss eligibility and payment options.)

HOW: An appointment is required to participate in the event. Registration for appointment times will be open from 7:00 AM on June 5, 2024, to 7:00 PM on June 7, 2024. Please check back during that time for a link to register. During your registration, you will be able to select an appointment time for your in-person appointment on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Note: Customers with a license suspension due to revocation for failure to pay child support, DUI, failure to complete a driver’s course ordered by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), traffic-related felony, or deemed by FLHSMV as a habitual traffic offender may not be eligible to participate.

While customers will save on collection fees, a payment plan requires an administrative fee of $25 and a reinstatement fee when applicable. All late fees will be added to the payment plan balance. Those who pay their debts or begin a monthly payment plan will also be able to reinstate their suspended driver's license in most cases. Payment options will be addressed when contacted after registering. 

The event will not address the following items as they require court action:

  • Reduction or waiver of court-imposed fees
  • Grant or reinstate community service hours
  • Recalling of warrants
  • Termination of probation
  • Amending the statute to a lesser charge
  • Waiver of court-ordered school
  • Setting aside defensive driving course school election
  • Suspension due to child support

You may be eligible if your driver’s license has been suspended due to failure to pay court fines, tickets or other costs in Pinellas County.

Customers are ineligible to participate in Operation Green Light if they have previously participated in any former Operation Green Light event in Pinellas County. Customers may also be disqualified from participating if their driver licenses are suspended due to revocation for failure to pay child support, DUI, failure to complete a driver’s course ordered by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FHSMV), traffic related felony, or deemed by FLHSMV as habitual traffic offender.

If you choose to go on a payment plan, a single administrative fee of $25 will be charged. 
The $25 administrative fee and, if applicable, the $60 driver's license reinstatement fee must be paid up front. All other outstanding fines or costs will be included in the balance of your payment plan. If you use a credit/ debit card as your choice of payment, you will be charged a 3.5% convenience fee for each transaction.

Yes. A single administration fee of $25 will be charged. 

Community service will not be granted at this event as this is a matter that must be addressed by the court.

Your first payment will be due on the day of the event (June 15, 2024) when you arrive for your in-person appointment. Please note that pre-registration for the event is required. Payment can be made via debit or credit card, by check or money order, or in cash.

The following items will not be addressed at this event as it requires court action:

You will receive a confirmation of your appointment time. Please plan to arrive at the Pinellas County Justice Center at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Security screening is required. Customers will be required to go through a metal detector when they arrive, similar to security at an airport. Firearms, knives of any size, chemical sprays, glass containers, metal nail files, metal forks, open-filled beverage containers, and cutting instruments are not permitted in any court facility.

The Clerk does not provide transportation to and from the courthouse.
